Nation pays respect to all those who contributed in making the country nuclear power: PM Shehbaz
ISLAMABAD, May 28 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that we will not hesitate to sacrifice for defence, security and national interests of the country.
Congratulating the nation on Youm-e-Takbeer, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his message said it is a historic day when Pakistan announced not to compromise its freedom, sovereignty and defence.
The Prime Minister paid rich tributes to the founder of Pakistan’s nuclear programme Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and great patriotic leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He said Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan the first of the Islamic world and seventh of the world nuclear power, while rejecting all kind of pressure and inducement.
The Prime Minister said the nation pays respect to all those who contributed in making the country nuclear power including all the past governments, armed forces, scientists, engineers, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan and all other who were associated with our nuclear programme. He said these are the heroes of the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif also thanked all the brother countries including Saudi Arabia that supported Pakistan in economic sanctions.
The Prime Minister said we, as a nation, have to move forward with passion of financial sovereignty and self-reliance of Youm-e-Takbeer.
On the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a tweet has expressed gratitude to those who helped to make defence of Pakistan invincible.
He said today, in 1998 Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif rejected all pressures and inducements in a bold show of leadership and made Pakistan nuclear power of the world. Shehbaz Sharif said now, we are resolved to turn Pakistan into an economic power.
