NAB should be shut down as it has caused thousands of billion rupees loss to the country: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi
ISLAMABAD, July 19 (SABAH): Former prime minister and Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said that former NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has been removed but the circus he initiated continues. Shahid Khaqan Abbsi added that he will have to be accountable for the ills he caused to innocent people. Abbasi asked Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to present details of his assets in front of masses.
Talking to media persons outside the accountability court after appearing in LNG case, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi reiterated that NAB should be shut down as it has caused thousands of billion rupees loss to the country. Abbasi said that he has asked Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to shut down NAB as no officer would work until NAB is operational.
Abbasi said that the court was not able to answer my question that what is my crime. “Their every answer comes to money laundering,” he said.
While talking about the Punjab by-polls, he said that the result of the by-polls has no connection with general elections. “The party that wins the vote on 22 July would form the government while the loser would sit in the opposition. We would not run off foreseeing our defeat like Imran Khan did in National Assembly,” he added.
“The 20 seats, the by-polls were contested on were PTI’s seats, now they have 15 and we have won five seats. We accept whatever decision the public has made,” Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said.
He said that the electricity load shedding has decreased in the country and it will be further decreased.
