NAB retrieves 1094 acres of forest land worth Rs. 1.3 billion from 57 influential encroachers in Sukkur
SUKKUR, Oct 24 (SABAH): In compliance of the order dated 28.04.2020, passed by Honorable High of Sindh Bench at Sukkur in CP No. 1115/2009 wherein Chairman NAB & DG NAB Sukkur were directed to look into the matters of encroachment, illegal allotment and illegal mutations of Forest land of Sindh, an Inquiry against Officers / Officials of Forest Department Sukkur and others was authorized.
During the course of exhaustive inquiry, relevant record was obtained from Revenue and Forest Department regarding illegal allotment of Forest land in favour of influential persons. NAB Sukkur engaged all the relevant Federal as well as departments of Government of Sindh to retrieve Forest land. Due to the untiring efforts of NAB Sukkur, 1094-00 acres of Forest land worth Rs.1,312.800 million in Taluka Nara, District Sukkur was retrieved from 57 influential persons.
The Revenue authorities have cancelled the allotment entries which were earlier allotted in favour of private persons & the said Forest land has now been entered in the record of rights in the name of Forest Department, Government of Sindh.
