NA Committee after deliberations, recommends passage of ‘the Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Government Bill) by NA

ISLAMABAD, July 23 (SABAH): 2nd meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice was held on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk, MNA in Committee No.2, Parliament House, Islamabad.

The meeting started with recitation from the Holy Quran, then the committee decide to proceed with the agenda. The Committee was briefed on the working of Ministry of Law & Justice and its attached departments, due to paucity of time, Committee deferred the Briefing.

The Committee considered the Bill, the Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Government Bill). After detailed deliberations the Committee unanimously recommended that the Bill as introduced may be passed by the Assembly.

The Committee considered the Bills, the Legal Aid and Justice Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Government Bill), the National Accountability (Amendment) Bill, 2024, (Ordinance No VI of 2024) (Government Bill), the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Article 25) Moved by Dr. Nafisa Shah, MNA, the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Article 51 & 106) Moved by Naveed Aamir Jeeva, MNA. After detailed deliberations Committee deferred the same.

Members/MNAs Changaze Ahmad Khan, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Dr. Nafeesa Shah, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Gohar Ali Khan, Ali Muhammad Khan, Umair Khan Niazi, Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa, Mumtaz Mustafa, Syed Hafeezuddin, Naveed Aamir Jeeva, Minister for Law and Justice and Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice along with staff attended the meeting.
