MYC urges serious efforts for formation of legislation at int’l level to thwart Islamophobic, blasphemous acts
LAHORE, July 4 (SABAH): Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) has stressed upon the need of putting serious efforts for formation of legislation at international level to thwart Islamophobic and blasphemous acts instead of presenting only condemnation resolutions.
These views were expressed by the central leadership of MYC through a joint statement. MYC President Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, Chief of Jamaat Ahle Hadith Pakistan Hafiz Abdul Ghaffar Ropri, Mufti Gulzar Ahmed Naeemi, Pir Safdar Shah Gillani and others said in a joint statement stated that an act of desecration of the Holy Quran was not acceptable at all and added there was need that European governments must specify the limits of their freedom of expressions the way there are laws in connection with Holocaust in Europe. Investigation and criticism on Holocaust on this matter is a crime.
MYC praised the condemnation statements by the leaders of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Muslim leaders at international level; however, it laid emphasis on the need of putting tangible struggle for formation of legislation at international level to thwart Islamophobic and blasphemous acts instead of presenting only condemnation resolutions.
