My passport seized even though there was never a case to begin with: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE, Oct 03, (SABAH): Vice President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday while thanking Allah Almighty said that her passport was returned back to her which seized for three years even though there was never a case to begin with. Maryam Nawaz said she was kept under wrongful confinement by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for three months, and in a death cell in Kot Lakhpat jail in a case that has not been filed to date due to fear of her rallies.

Maryam Nawaz expressed these views on Twitter after a three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti ordered to return her passport back to her on Monday..

Referring to former premier Imran Khan – during whose tenure Maryam’s passport was confiscated – as a ‘nuisance’, the PML-N leader said that she was kept under “wrongful confinement” by NAB for three months, and in a death cell in Kot Lakhpat jail out of “fear of my rallies”.

Taking a hit at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Maryam Nawaz further said that “the nuisance’s politics based on cruelty and vengeance had to come to an end one day.”

“However, this foreign agent has not stopped with his lies and scams even today. The consequences of his actions and his tragic end await him. God willing,” she added.

In reply to a tweet, Maryam said, “I have had no regrets. God conferred upon me courage to face with revenge and injustices. God didn’t let me down. I’m thankful to those cruel people who trained me in a way that I couldn’t do this even I wished to. This is all from Almighty Allah.”

Meanwhile in response to the IHC verdict discharging contempt of court notice against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that “fitna” has been forgiven. “The contempt was committed and in front of the entire world. So instead of saying that the case has been dismissed, it would be more appropriate to say that fitna has been forgiven,” Maryam Nawaz wrote on Twitter.
