Mushaal Mullick underscores the transformative role of modern technology in advancing women’s empowerment

ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 (SABAH): Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, has underscored the transformative role of modern technology in advancing women’s empowerment. She noted the collaboration between the Ministry of Human Rights, Ministry of Information Technology, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to bring forth programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing women’s access to technology in Pakistan. She also highlighted the pivotal role of synchronized efforts among governmental institutions, civil society, and NGOs in addressing human rights issues.

Mushaal Mullick was in a discussion session with a delegation of students from National Defence University (NDU). She was accompanied by Sabien Hussein Mullick (Focal Person to SAPM). The students showcased innovative ideas for women’s empowerment. Acknowledging their creativity and dedication, SAPM expressed wholehearted appreciation for the students’ initiatives and assured them of her unwavering support. She advocated for sustained engagement with educational institutions, encouraging the students to persist in their efforts to bring positive change and empowerment to women.

Mushaal Mullick emphasized the equal standing of women alongside men across all fields, highlighting their significant contributions to the country’s progress. She underscored the active participation of women in the political sphere. She noted women’s substantial representation in both the National Assembly and the Senate, demonstrating a transformative shift towards gender-inclusive political leadership.

Mushaal Mullicik highlighted the Ministry of Human Rights’ 100-day plan to enhance the human rights landscape in Pakistan, emphasizing the incorporation of programs and initiations for women’s empowerment and other marginalized communities. These initiatives provide essential support structures for women and marginalized groups aimed at fostering their economic independence and inclusivity, she added. Mushaal also highlighted the strides Pakistan had made concerning human rights. She said that the recent report by the European Commission on GSP+ countries is an evidence of the country’s progress. She said that there existed comprehensive legislations dedicated to safeguarding human rights in Pakistan. She highlighted the introduction of Implementation Committees to ensure the effective enforcement of these laws.

Mushaal Mullick underscored the critical role of Islamic scholars in disseminating awareness and educating the masses. She said that by tapping into the influence of Islamic scholars, there exists an opportunity to bridge cultural gaps and promote understanding of human rights within communities.
