Mushaal hails PM Shehbaz, OIC for effectively raising Kashmir issue at United Nations

ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (SABAH): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, has lauded PM Shehbaz Sharif and OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, for raising the Kashmir issue at global stage effectively.

Mushaal, in a statement, commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, for aptly highlighting the dire situation in Kashmir and exposing India’s terrorism in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir on September 25, 2024 at UN reaffirmed their support for the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for realization of their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The OIC Contact Group in its strong worded joint communique statement also underscored that the Lok Sabha or Legislative Assembly elections in IIOJK cannot serve as a substitute to the grant of the right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mushaal said that India should end the election drama in IIOJK as New Dehli could not attain its nefarious objectives through shameful tactics. She said that the world must take notice of India’s blatant human rights violations in Kashmir.

Mushaal also lashed out at world silence over the perpetuated human rights abuses, India is a constant threat to regional peace. She urged the world to put an end to state-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir.

“India’s actions in Kashmir are a stark violation of international law and human rights. The world must intervene to prevent further bloodshed inthevalley,” she added.

Mushaal emphasized the need for international intervention to prevent Indian forces from committing further violence and war crimes and ensure resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UNSC resolutions.

Mushaal urged the global community to take immediate notice of the Kashmir issue, emphasizing that failure to act would be a gross injustice to the Kashmiri people.
