Mohsin Naqvi expresses deep sorrow & grief over the martyrdom of Constable Muhammad Afzal in a firing incident in Panjgur
ISLAMABAD, June 25 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Interior and Anti-Narcotics Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Constable Muhammad Afzal in a firing incident in Panjgur.
Federal Minister for Interior and Anti-Narcotics paid rich tribute to the sacrifice of Constable Muhammad Afzal and expressed condolences to his family. He prayed that may Allah Almighty elevate the ranks of the martyr and grant patience to his family. Mohsin Naqvi also prayed for the speedy recovery of injured soldier Muhammad Shahid and directed that the best medical facilities be provided to him. He said that Constable Afzal has achieved the highest rank of martyrdom and those who sacrifice their lives for the national mission of eradicating drugs are the true heroes of the nation. He reiterated that the elements involved in the firing incident will be brought to justice, and vigorous operations against the drug mafia will continue with full force.
Meanwhile on the directions of Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan Coast Guards have launched a crackdown on smuggling. Intelligence-based operations were conducted in Uthal, Khari Check Post, and Gwadar’s naala side of Balochistan, resulting in significant seizures and arrests. Near Uthal, 1140 kg of charas and 255 packets of gutka were confiscated from Japan coach going to Karachi from Quetta. At Khari Check Post, 12800 liters of Iranian diesel were seized from Al hanif coach leaving for Karachi. Additionally, 13 illegal immigrants were arrested from Gwadar’s naala side, who were attempting to enter Pakistan illegally from Iran via speedboat without any legal documents or permits. All of the detainees have been handed over to FIA authorities for further investigation and legal action.
Interior Minister has directed to continue indiscriminate action against smuggling and implement zero-tolerance policy against it. He emphasized that smuggling is causing harm to the country’s industry and economy, and it is necessary to curb the mafia. He also appreciated the performance of Pakistan Coast Guards against smuggling.
