Miscreants involved in the May 9 riots will be brought to justice: PM Shehbaz
QUETTA, May 22 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated the 34th National Games in Quetta on Monday.
Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Minister for Housing and Works Maulana Abdul Wassey, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Member National Assembly Muhammad Aslam Bhootani and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, PM Shehbaz Sharif vowed to utilize all possible resources to promote sports activities in the country.
The Prime Minister said Federal government will spare no effort in helping the provincial government of Balochistan to revive the sports and recreational activities for the youth.
He said our youth have a lot of capabilities which must be utilized optimally to mainstream their role in development of the country. He added that capacity building of youth and provision of better opportunities to them were top most priorities of the government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Shariff said holding National Games in Balochistan is reflective of national unity and passionate love of Baloch people for Pakistan. He said peace has returned to Balochistan after years of indomitable struggle and sacrifices of people and security forces.
PM Shehbaz Sharif lauded the law enforcement agencies, the sports associations from across the country and the administrative officials for organizing these games.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the May 9 violence was a reflection of the anti-state agenda. The prime minister said, “May 9 tragedy will be remembered as a black day. The injustice done to the martyrs is deplorable”. The miscreants involved in the May 9 riots will be brought to justice, the premier vowed.
Emphasizing the need to prevent the repetition of the May 9 tragedy, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to take steps in this regard, keeping in mind the law and the constitution. The nation stands in solidarity with the martyrs, he added.
Speaking about the National Games, PM Shehbaz said, “I would like to congratulate the organisers for starting such a wonderful event. The National Games are being held in Quetta after 19 years.”
Meanwhile PML-N leadership of Balochistan called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Quetta on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said progress and development of Balochistan is top priority of the government. He said government ensured provision of relief to the flood victims of Balochistan.
He pledged to provide equal development opportunities and employment to skilled and talented people. The Prime Minster said he is working day and night to remove the deprivations of the people of Balochistan.
He paid tribute to the leadership of PML-N in Balochistan for helping flood affectees in the province.
Meanwhile Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Governor House in Quetta on Monday.
The Governor was appreciative of the special interest shown by the Prime Minister in development of Balochistan province.
Malik Abdul Wali Kakar gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister about the ongoing development schemes and law and order situation in the province.
