Mehmood Ahmed Saghar & Farooq Rehmani thanks PM Shehbaz for raising Kashmir & Palestine issues during his speech at the UN general assembly

ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (SABAH): Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has extended his profound gratitude to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for raising the plight of Kashmiri and Palestinian people during his speech at the UN general assembly.

In a statement issued here today Saghar said that Pakistan’s consistent support for the resolution of Kashmir dispute has been a source of great inspiration for the people of Kashmir.

“The struggling people of the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir owe a debt of gratitude to Prime Minister Sharif for adopting a bold stance on the issue of Kashmir”, Saghar said, adding that besides highlighting the plight of Kashmiris, the PM has exposed India’s settler colonialism policies towards Kashmir before the august forum.

Saghar expressed the hope that the world leaders would endorse prime minister Sharif’s contentions and support his call for an early and amicable solution of all the disputes in particular the lingering Kashmir and Palestine issues that have been the main cause and consequence of tension and unrest in the Muslim world.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K , while hailing the address of the Pakistan Prime Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine before the UN General Assembly last night, said the speech mirrored in letter and spirit the urges and aspirations of the subjugated and squeezed nations of both Kashmir and Palestine and raised an alarm on the fast transformation of the Muslim demography and culture in the regions by the  settler and slaughter policies of India and Israel. He said the world body had wasted 77 long years of the  subjugated and oppressed People and failed to serve the sacred cause of the United Nations Organisation.

He condemned farce play of elections in IIOJ&K at a time when there was total suppression and suffocation the forcibly occupied region of Jammu and Kashmir, thousands were in prisons along with their leadership and if ever any kashmiri detainee was released, a tracker system was tied with his heels to make his rest of life miserable and send shock and fear waves among his friends, and neighbours.

He emphasised upon the representatives of Pakistan  in the UN to take tangible steps against such cruelties and work with the members of the UN for a durable and peaceful solution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
