Meeting of the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure & Privileges held under the chairmanship of Senator Muhammad Tahir Bizinjo
ISLAMABAD, March 04 (SABAH): Meeting of the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was held under the chairmanship of Senator Muhammad Tahir Bizinjo here at the Parliament House.
The Committee considered the Privilege Motion moved by Senator Waqar Mehdi against Senior Member Board of Revenue, Government of Sindh for not attending the telephone calls of the Senator. The SMBR did not appear before the Committee despite issuance of notice and issuance of letter from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
The Committee took strong notice of absence of the SMBR and directed to convey displeasure to the Chief Secretary Sindh with the direction to remove the officer from his current post. The Committee directed to send copies of the letter to the Chief Minister Sindh and the Secretary establishment Divisions as well.
The Committee also considered the privilege motion by Senator Dost Muhammad Khan against the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Regional Police Officer D.I Khan District Police Officer upper South Waziristan, District Police Tan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Tank for their highhandedness and misuse of power during the meeting of a Jirga being headed by the Senator which amounts of intimidation of a member. Although the Mover was not in attendance however the RPO D.I Khan put attendance in the meeting and informed that he had telephonic contact with the Mover and assured the mover to address his grievances. The Members appreciated the presence and response of RPO D.I Khan and decided to dispose of the matter.
The meeting was attended by Senator Saifullah Abro, Senator Waqar Mehdi and Senator Khalida Sikandar Mandhro. Officers from ministry were also in attendance.
