Maulana Fazlur Rehman announces to stage sit-in protest in front of SC on Monday while terming verdicts of judiciary regarding Imran Khan as unilateral

ISLAMABAD, May 12 (SABAH): Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President and Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced to stage sit-in protest in front of Supreme Court of Pakistan on 15th May (Monday) while terming the verdicts of the judiciary regarding Imran Khan as unilateral. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has asked the workers of PDM to reach Islamabad from whole country on Monday. He said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan is the mother of law and not the mother-in-law. He said that if any effort was made to stop the protest then it will be responded with baton, fist, slap and stone. He said that if there is any retired facilitator of Imran Khan present in any institution then the concerned institution should take action against him, adding that we have decided to protect the institutions. He said that now protest will be staged against the attitude of Supreme Court.

This was stated by Maulana Fazlur Rehman while addressing an emergency press conference in Islamabad after PDM leadership meeting. The PDM meeting was also attended by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif through video link from London and also given his suggestions.

“We have decided that we will protest against this behaviour. As someone who is representing the PDM, I appeal to the entire nation to reach Islamabad on Monday. We will stage a sit-in and protest in huge numbers,” he said. Maulana Fazl said that every worker of his party will participate in the protest and no one will stay at home.

“If someone tried to stop us, we will reply back with clubs, slaps and punches if needed,” he warned. Maulana Fazl said that instead of making efforts to eliminate the crime, the courts were instead giving protection to the culprits, adding that the top court gave protection to a person who was involved in embezzlement worth Rs60 billion.

“Did Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz or Faryal Talpur receive such relief? There are hooligans everywhere in the entire country and terrorists are roaming around and courts are giving them protection,” he said.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman alleged that the country’s Constitution, law and everything have been put at risk for the sake of the PTI chairman.

During the presser, the PDM chief said that the top court ordered not to take action against Khan for the incidents after May 9. He added that the judiciary was giving rulings beyond the Constitution.

Blasting the apex court, the PDM chief said the leniency was given to three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Fazl said even Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo was not provided a telephone to inquire about the health of her ailing wife — Kulsoom Nawaz.

He said that the “terrorists” were attacking Corp Commanders’ residences and attacking and humiliating army installations. “Supreme Court is the mother of law, and not mother-in-law… how much they want to deviate from Constitution,” he questioned.

Addressing Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, Fazl said that we will not accept the decision of three judges and only the judgment of four judges was acceptable. But on the other hand, Imran Khan was being given “VIP protocol”, he added. The PDM chairman further announced that they have decided to stage a protest against the “behaviour” of the Supreme Court.

He said that terrorist was a small word for Imran Khan as what he had done comes under sedition and rebellion. “If Taliban does this it is rebellion but when this party does it is okay? We will not accept it,” he concluded.

Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N Senior Vice President and Party’s Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif participated via video link. Other leaders who attended the meeting include former prime minister and PML-N Senior Vice President Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry, Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) Chief Sardar Muhammad Akhtar Jan Mengal, National Party leader Senator Muhammad Tahir Bizenjo, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, JUI-P Chief Shah Awais Noorani and others.
