SRINAGAR, Feb 10 (SABAH): Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Masarrat Aalam Butt paying tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Bhat on his 39th martyrdom anniversary has said the Kashmiri people are duty bound to safeguard the martyrs’ sacrifices by carrying their mission to its logical conclusion.
Masarrat Aalam Butt in a message sent from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar jail also called for complete shut down tomorrow and said that the Kashmiris will never forget their heroes. He maintained Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Shaheed Afzal Guru and other martyrs breathed a new life in Kashmir’s resistance struggle and they will remain the source of inspiration for the people of Kashmir. He maintained that the struggle for freedom from Indian bondage remains alive by remembering these supreme sacrifices and that these days make our hatred towards India and its stooges more intense.
The APHC Chairman said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are resisting India’s illegal occupation of their homeland for the last over seven decades and during this period thousands of Kashmiris have offered their precious lives for this sacred cause. He said now it is very imperative to safeguard these sacrifices by not allowing anyone to let the blood of martyrs go in vain.
Masarrat Aalam Butt urged the people of the occupied territory to remain steadfast in pursuance of their demand for resolution of the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and the will of Kashmiris. He said that fascist India is ruling the Kashmiris’ land at the behest of its military might and it will never be able to rule the Kashmiris hearts. He also reiterated the Kashmiris’ demand for the return of the mortal remains of Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Shaheed Afzal Guru who were buried in the notorious Tihar Jail premises.
Masarrat Aalam Butt said that India is violating all the principles of morality and constitution by not handing over the mortal remains of the two great martyrs, adding New Delhi’s reluctance in this regard has badly exposed its claim of being the largest democracy in the world.
