Maryam Nawaz Sharif reaches Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah


JEDDAH, April 11 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and Party’s Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz Sharif reached Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to perform Umrah. Her brother Hussain Nawaz Sharif and PML-N Saudi Arabia office-bears received Maryam Nawaz at the Jeddah International Airport.

Maryam Nawaz left for Jeddah from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal international Airport at 2:36 AM on Tuesday by Saudi Airlines flight No SV-739. Passengers and crew members took selfies with Maryam Nawaz on the occasion. Prior to leaving for Saudi Arabia, Maryam Nawaz shared her picture wearing black “abaya” and wrote “Allah Hafiz” with emogy of “Duaa” on her personal twitter account.

Maryam Nawaz is accompanied by her husband Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, son Muhammad Junaid Safdar, daughter-in-law Ayesha Saif, two daughters – Mehrun Nisa and Mahnoor Safdar, as well as some employees.

Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif will be special guests of the royal family in Saudi Arabia where they will also hold meetings with the Saudi royal leadership.

Nawaz and Maryam will spend the last 10 days of Ramazan in Makkah and Madina. The PML-N chief organiser will return home on April 26 after performing Umrah.

Meanwhile Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is also reaching Saudi Arabia from London for performing Umrah. Nawaz Sharif will spend last 10 days of Ramazan in Saudi Arabia on the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. The younger son of Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz Sharif and some other family members of the family will accompany him from London to Saudi Arabia.

Nawaz Sharif, who had been spending last 10 days of Ramazan in Makkah and Madina for years in the past, is visiting the holy land after six years.

According to a private TV channel sources, Nawaz Sharif had initially planned to stay in the Kingdom till 26th of this month, but now Hussain Nawaz and his family had requested him to prolong his stay in Jeddah at his residence. Hussain Nawaz has business in Saudi Arabia, and his Arab wife, has house in Jeddah.

Nawaz Sharif could extend his stay in Jeddah till mid-May. He would have stopover for two days in Jeddah before going to Makkah to perform Umrah. He has planned to offer his first Juma prayers at Khana Ka’aba and Jumatul Wida at Masjad-e-Nabvi in Madina.

Nawaz Sharif would have meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz in Jeddah, who is moving to coast city on Red Sea this week. Sources indicated that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar had delayed their departure for Saudi Arabia due to political situation in the country. They could go to the Kingdom for a day or two early next week on the day when Eidul-Fitar would be observed in Saudi Arabia.

According to well informed sources, Saudi government will give a considerable amount to Pakistan as loan during the visit of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif while keeping in mind the economic problems of Pakistan. According to sources Nawaz Sharif will pay visit to Qatar after completing the Saudi Arabian visit and financial assistance for Pakistan is also expected during this visit and if it is happened then the economic problems of Pakistan could be decreased.
