Martyrdom of senior APHC leader Altaf Ahmed Shah is irreparable loss to continuing freedom movement: Syed Salahuddin


MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 11 (SABAH): Chief of the Hizbul Mujahideen and Chairman United Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that martyrdom of senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader and son-in-law of late Quaid Tehreek-e-Azadi Jammu Kashmir Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Altaf Fantosh is very painful act and an irreparable loss to continuing freedom movement. He said from day one he remained active along with Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and Syed Ali Shah Geelani in nourishing freedom movement while passing through very difficult times.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed expressed these views while addressing a special meeting of Hizbul Mujahideen Command Council on Tuesday. He said that most period of Altaf Fantosh’s life passed in Indian torture cells and his near and dear ones were inflicted upon cruelty from occupied forces but the late leader remained steadfast even today he was at infamous Tihar Jail for more than five years. Occupied rulers barbarity had gone to such an extent that his relatives were not allowed to visit him even at the verge of his death.

Chief of Hizbul Mujahideen while talking about the role of international human rights organizations said they are observing dead silence on barbarism continued by India which had put in danger the precious lives of thousands of incarcerated Kashmiri workers and leaders in Indian jails.

Syed Salahuddin has stressed upon the government of Pakistan to put aside its conventional apologetic approach towards Kashmir dispute and take up this issue before the international community otherwise a great human tragedy may occur.

In the meeting, martyred Hizbul Mujahideen leader Dr. Abdul Mannan Wani was paid homage who was martyred during a clash with the Indian forces on October 11, 2018. Martyred Mannan not only through gun but also through his pen unfolded nefarious designs of occupied rulers. In the meeting, the participants prayed for the higher status of martyrs Altaf Fantosh and Mannan in jannah.
