Martyr Maqbool Butt is unforgettable chapter of historical struggle of Indian held Occupied Kashmir: Syed Salahuddin Ahmed


MUZAFFABAD, Feb 11 (SABAH): Chief of the Hizbul Mujahideen and Chairman United Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that martyr Muhammad Maqbool Butt is unforgettable chapter of historical struggle of Indian held Occupied Kashmir. 

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed expressed these views while addressing an event on Maqbool Butt’s 40th martyrdom day. He said the martyr leader fixed a route for the residents of Kashmir and by abiding by which the goal of freedom could come closer.

He said the martyr leader accepted his death for achieving a sacred purpose which is against illegal and unfair armed forces occupation of India on Occupied Kashmir. He didn’t accept to bow down in front of India. Maqbool Ahmed was an educated Hurriyet leader who believed that India would never give the Kashmiris the right of self-determination and there is a need of armed resistance for this purpose, he added.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed said that martyr Muhammad Maqbool Butt adopted the way of resistance instead of conventional methods. He gave the Kashmiris a new spirit and courage against India. He had understood the inaction of the United Nations due to which Kashmiri people were disappointed.

The chief of the Hizbul Mujahideen further raised the slogans that freedom cannot be achieved but it is snatched and by blood darkness of slavery could be ended. He said that Maqbool Butt was martyred by putting aside all the principles of justice. Maqbool Butt like leaders are symbol of resistance against occupation of India. He said that India could not suppress struggle for freedom through the use of gun.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed said that one day there would be end of story of cruelty and barbarism and added history is witness that one day one day occupational forces are destined to leave and depressed powers at last got freedom. God willing residents of Kashmir would also achieve freedom, he said. General Secretary Muttahida Jihad Council Sheikh Jameelur Rehman also addressed on the occasion.
