Maintaining sanctity of parliament vital for bright future of country: Raja Pervaiz Ashraf
ISLAMABAD, August 01 (SABAH): Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that Parliament is the representative of more than 22 million Pakistanis and being representative it is vital to maintain its sanctity and sacred image. He said,” maintaining Sanctity of Parliament vital for development of the country”. He said that the internship programme of National Assembly Secretariat is to make youth well aware to parliamentary procedures.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf expressed these views on welcoming ceremony of more than 150 interns from different universities of Pakistan for internship in Parliament House.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that youth of our country should understand the constitution of the Islamic republic of Pakistan as constitution is the soul of the state. He said that now it is up to young generation to take responsibility for maintaining sanctity of parliament. He also desired that the students from far flung areas be also included in this programme. He also said that it is up to young generation to be well aware about the committee system of Parliament.
The NA Speaker said that our youth has all requisite potential to steer the country out of the present socio-economic challenges. He said that trained and upskilled youth is vital for bringing socio-economic stability in country. Convener Parliamentary Task Force on Sustainable Development Goals and Additional Secretary Special Initiative National Assembly Secretariat Syed Shamoon Hasmi were also present on the occasion. He also briefed the participants that at present 180 interns are serving in National Assembly Secretariat from different universities across Pakistan. He said also informed that National Assembly Secretariat has signed MoUs with different universities to train youth especially in legislative matters.
