Liaqat Baloch welcomes historic unanimous decision of the Supreme Court
LAHORE, April 08 (SABAH): Liaqat Baloch, Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and President of the Standing Committee on Political and National Affairs while welcoming the historic unanimous decision of the Supreme Court, said that it was a victory for the Constitution, democracy and Pakistan and the defeat of those who make the constitution and democracy a toy of personal likes and dislikes. There is no ambiguity in the decision of the Supreme Court: it’s a clear, unequivocal decision in the true sense. Instead of giving any concession to anyone, the Constitution and Pakistan have been given dignity and respect.
Liaqat Baloch said that the five-member bench of the Supreme Court also dismissed all the concerns and cleared all the stains of the past. The decision is a lesson for those who violate the constitution, make the constitution a stick in their hand, a watch in their pocket. Now the test of the government and all political and democratic forces has begun. The national media played a vital role. It has now become clear that independent, impartial and principled journalism is the basic need of the country and the nation.
Liaqat Baloch said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should admit his mistakes, failures and collective shortcomings. Come out of a new adventure, fight till the last ball and surprise -like statements, recognize the Constitution and the principles of democracy, acknowledge the role of the Leader of the Opposition after the Leader of the House. This will also be an important beginning of national, political and democratic history. As Leader of the Opposition, he will have the right to say everything in the House. He struggled in politics. The failure of the government, the incompetence became the writing on the wall. Now, begin a polite, civilized democratic, parliamentary era. Imran Khan should admit that he lost his hard work, struggle, rise to popularity due to his wrong, incompetent, uncivilized team. Now, he needs to start positive, constructive politics in the pretext of these experiences.
Liaqat Baloch said that the majority of members in the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly should be allowed to complete their constitutional, parliamentary and democratic process. The President, Prime Minister, Governor should not take the path of further humiliation. The fact is written on the wall that even the Sharif-Zardari rule cannot last long after the fall of Imran. Time, circumstances and the devastating economic situation and the plight of the people require that the government, the state and civil society agree on national priorities. After the all agreed electoral reforms; a free, transparent and impartial, credible election should be given to the nation in the shortest possible time.
