Liaqat Baloch strongly condemns arrest of PTI leaders on the occasion of their meeting with Imran Khan


LAHORE, Nov 13 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has strongly condemned the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders on the occasion of their meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, although they were later released. He said this action of the administration and the police is contempt of court and a clear violation of political and democratic fundamental rights.

Liaqat Baloch said that bitterness, intensity and vengeful sentiments are already on the rise in politics while the government and secret agencies will make the situation worse by making undemocratic measures, bitterness, uncertainty, desperation and hopelessness.

Liaqat Baloch met Qaumi Watan Party Chief and former Interior Minister and former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao in Islamabad. On this occasion, the country’s situation, the continuous incidents of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were discussed. Serious concerns were expressed over the insecurity of people’s lives and property.

Aftab Sherpao said that there is no government writ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it has become impossible for common people to go out in many areas, adding the federal and provincial governments are not trying to handle the situation seriously.

Liaqat Baloch and Aftab Sherpao agreed that the leaders of political parties should agree on the most important national priorities and national agenda to protect the Constitution, democracy, elections and fundamental rights. Liaqat Baloch said that the meeting of the Central Committee of the Milli Yekjehti Council will be held on November 21, 2024 at Jamia Naeemia Islamabad.

He said invitation letter and agenda were issued to the central committee members. The central committee will prepare recommendations for the future plan of action and measures according to the instructions of the Majlis-e-Qaideen, he said and added the Milli Yekjehti Council has to play a key role for religious harmony, unity and solidarity in the country.
