‘Kids Literacy Program’ organized for children of Alkhidamt Child Protection Centers with cooperation of Alkhidmat Foundation & UCP
LAHORE, Mar 16 (SABAH): Six-days long “Kids Literacy Program” was organized for the children of Alkhidamt Child Protection Centers with the cooperation of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and UCP. The purpose of organizing the program was mental and physical upbringing and learning of children along with promoting their trend and eagerness towards curricular and extracurricular activities.
In this regard the concluding ceremony was held which was attended by Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Jafri, Dean of UCP Business School Dr. Muhammad Athar Siddiqui, volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation and male and female students.
On the occasion Syed Waqas Jafri said that Alkhidmat Child Protection Centers are working for imparting formal and informal education to over 2,500 street children. He said that as these children are used to work from early age, they could be made the useful citizens of the country while paying little attention and while educating them and while providing them training.
On the occasion in his address Dr. Muhammad Athar Siddiqui appreciated the services of the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan for the street children and said that UCP through different sessions tried to impart writing, art and craft and communication skills to these children, adding that stationary, school bags and refreshment were also arranged for these children.
Certificates were distributed among the volunteers and organizers of the program in recognition of their services at the end of the ceremony.
