Kashmiri people will not surrender before India & compromise their struggle for freedom & self-determination: Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi
CHICAGO, August 23 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former member of Kashmir Council Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi has said that Kashmiri expatriates who bear the heavy responsibility of the homeland, are expected to play a role not only in raising the international profile of the Kashmiri freedom movement and exposing Indian atrocities but also in the development and progress of free Kashmir.
In a reception ceremony organized by Sardar Khyam Fazil, Sardar Haleem Khan, and Sardar Naeem Iqbal Khan, who are associated with constituency LA-22, Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former member of Kashmir Council, addressed the gathering upon arriving in the third-largest city of the United States, Chicago.
Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi departed from Washington Airport on Tuesday along with Sardar Zarif Khan, Sardar Aftab Roshan, and Sardar Tariq Nazir for Chicago, where they will stay for a week.
Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi stated that the Modi government is trying to change the demographic of Kashmir by abolishing Article 370 and the specified rules of Maharaja Kashmir from the Indian Constitution to eliminate the Muslim identity of Kashmir. Currently, thousands of non-Kashmiri families are being brought to the state of Jammu and Kashmir from India and settled in places like Siri Nagar and other regions, with state-sponsored incentives, in an attempt to erase the Kashmiri identity. However, the Modi government should understand that Kashmiris will not step back from their stance of self-determination and Muslim rights.
Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi emphasized to the Kashmiri diaspora that they should protest vigorously during Modi’s visit to New York on September 22 and make the international community believe that India has crossed all limits of oppression against Kashmiris. However, he also stated that Kashmiri people will not surrender before India and compromise their struggle for freedom and self-determination.
Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi highlighted that the Kashmiri diaspora has effectively brought the Kashmir issue to the forefront during challenging times. He congratulated them and urged the prosperous members of the Kashmiri community to play their role in the development and progress of free Kashmir.
Other officials, while addressing the ceremony, thanked Sardar Abdul Khalique Wassi for his political services and efforts in building and developing the constituency.
