Kashmiri people will definitely succeed in their struggle for self-determination: Ameerul Azim
LAHORE, Oct 27 (SABAH): Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameerul Azim led a protest rally under Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore on the occasion of the Black Day observed worldwide against the illegal occupation of Indian Occupied Kashmir on October 27, 1947.
Addressing the participants of the rally on Sunday, Ameerul Azim said that since 77 years, India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir unconstitutionally and illegally, more than one lakh Kashmiris have been martyred by the Indian army and millions of people are still imprisoned in Indian jails. Despite this, India could not lower the morale of the Kashmiri people, he said and added Kashmiris are struggling for the right of self-determination and God willing they will be successful in their struggle.
Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Wing Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, Abdul Aziz Abid and others were present on this occasion. A large number of women also participated in the demonstration. The participants carried placards, banners and pamphlets with anti-India slogans.
Ameerul Azim said that the United Nations law says that if an army or a state has occupied a piece of land, then the struggle of the people for their freedom is legitimate. He lamented that sometime the rulers of Pakistan try to declare India as most favourite nation and sometime want to trade of onions.
He said that relations with India cannot be normalized without giving the right of self-determination to Kashmiris and until the constitutional status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is restored to its original position before August 5, 2019 as it will be a betrayal with the blood of the Kashmiri martyrs and a violation from the long-standing principled stand of the founders of Pakistan in this regard.
He said that more than 0.9 million Indians are committing atrocities on the Kashmiri people in Kashmir while the international community including the United Nations is silent on it. The United Nations should play a role in resolving the Kashmir issue according to its resolutions, he added.
