Kashmiri leaders at round table conference organized by JKLF paid homage to martyrs of July 13, 1931

ISLAMABAD, July 14 (SABAH): Kashmiri leaders in a condolence round table conference organized by the Jammu Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF) in a local hotel in Islamabad on the other day paid homage to the martyrs of 13th July, 1931, who were indiscriminately fired upon by the forces of the then Maharaj of Jammu Kashmir in Srinagar while they were raising their voice for the resumption of civil rights of the people of the State.

The participants of the conference also paid rich tributes to the great son of the soil and trade union leader belonging to the minority Pandit community of the State, Late Sampat Prakash, for the gallantry role he played for the cause of freedom and for safeguarding the national ethos between the communities of the State.

In a statement issued from the party’s central information office the conference was presided over by the vice chairman of JKLF Saleem Haroon wherein convener APHC, Mehmood Ahmed Sagar, was the guest of honor.

The conference was conducted by the JKLF spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar. The other participants who spoke on the occasion were Abdul Rasheed Turabi (Former Head JeI, AJK), APHC leaders Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Hussain Khateeb, Gen. Sec. APHC Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Hasan-ul-Bana, Syed Manzoor A. Shah, Zahid Safi, Sheikh Abdul Majid and others.

The participants who attended the conference included Sardar M Afzal Baig, Abdul Qudoos, Shahbaz Abbasi, Khawaja Aneeq, Sheikh Yaqoob, Dawood Khan, Mian Muzafar Ahmed, Manzoor A Dar, Gulshan A Shah, columnist Irfan Bashir and Dr. Ataullah Din Puri.

According to the JKLF spokesman, the participants of the conference unanimously spoke about the Kashmiri people being the sole party of the dispute having the right to decide about the future status of their motherland.

The speakers through a resolution adopted at the end of the conference demanded immediate and simultaneous withdrawal of forces from the entire State. The participants also demanded an immediate and unconditional release of all Kashmiri pro-freedom leaders and workers languishing in many Indian jails for years together including Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Besides Saleem Haroon and Mehmood A Sagar, all the speakers on the occasion raised their voice in favor of national unity with a common national strategy to be devised through a national dialogue among the different political and ideological forces of the State of Jammu Kashmir.

Resolutions adopted in a round table conference organized by JKLF is as follows:

On the eve of ‘Martyrs Day’, the participants of a condolence round table conference organized by JKLF paid homage to the martyrs of 13th July, 1931 and tributes were also paid to the great freedom loving trade union leader Sampat Prakash, who passed away on 1st July.

The following draft resolution were unanimously adopted at the end of the conference: The participants of the conference paid homage to the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir, especially the martyrs of 13th July who laid down their lives in Srinagar during the restoration of rights movement in 1931.

Conference paid rich tributes to the great comrade Sampat Prakash for his exemplary services he rendered for the cause of freedom and in safeguarding the centuries old Kashmiri brotherhood in the State.

The conference terms him a great patriot and values his services as unforgettable. The Conference reiterates its determination to continue the peaceful people’s struggle for the restoration of the oneness and resumption of sovereignty after the reunification and national independence of the currently divided State of Jammu Kashmir. The participants of the conference reiterate their national stand that the State of Jammu Kashmir is historically a political and geographical unit, and reject any option short of independence.

The conference condemns the ongoing Indian state terrorism in Jammu Kashmir and sends a clear message of not being intimidated by the Indian government’s tough policy of using force against the freedom-loving people of the State.

The participants of the conference strongly condemned the ongoing illegal, undemocratic and inhumane behavior of the Indian government against the incarcerated chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who was unfairly sentenced to life on the directions of the Modi led government of India under the pretext of fabricated and concocted cases filed against him by NIA, and is being brought now close to death penalty in the same politically motivated cases.

The Conference demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all Kashmiri leaders and thousands of freedom loving people, including Yasin Malik, who have been imprisoned in jails for years.
