Kashmiri children are deprived of all basic rights & freedoms: Ghulam Muhammad Safi
ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (SABAH): Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, said in a statement from Islamabad that today, when the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is being observed around the world, the Day has no meaning for oppressed Kashmiri children as they are deprived of all fundamental rights and freedoms enshrined in the UN Charter.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that a large number of young children are being abused and ill-treated by Indian soldiers in Occupied Kashmir. He called upon the United Nations, human rights and international child protection organizations to come forward and save Kashmiri children from Indian violence and added the Indian soldiers not only arrest innocent children but also use them as weapons of war.
The international community should play its role for the resolution of the Kashmir conflict according to the resolutions of the United Nations and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, he stressed.
Indian soldiers have brutally martyred parents of many children in occupied Jammu and Kashmir in fake encounters and jails in the last three decades, he revealed. The violence, cruelty and brutality of Kashmiri children is a well-thought-out plan of the Indian government, which is being carried out by the Indian forces, he added.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said until today, thousands of children have been orphaned, hundreds of children have been disabled and blinded for life by pellets, and the parents of thousands of children have been picked up and disappeared which made them destitute.
