Karachi is a lifeline of Pakistan & playing havoc with its rights cannot put country on path of development: Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman


KARACHI, April 10 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Monday said that port city of Karachi is a lifeline of the country and playing havoc with the rights of city cannot put the country on the path of development.

Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq and an aftaar dinner at UC-2 Bihar Colony Eid Gah Park. Emir city south and member Sindh Assembly Syed Abdur Rasheed, nominated candidate for chairman UC-2 Jawwad Shoaib, vice chairman Ghulam Rasool Lohar and others also addressed the aftaar dinner.

He further said that census of the city was not done in a proper way and added that there was a difference between the maps of federal institution of statistics and SPARCO. He further said that over 16000 block codes have been erased whereas census was not carried out in thousands of blocks, putting a question mark before the whole process.

He demanded that extension should be given in census till April 30 and that all buildings including high rise ones must be counted whereas all those people living in Karachi should be included in the city. He further demanded of the quarters concerned to give them an access to data. He said that census is a subject concerning federation and added that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were part of the federal government whereas governor Sindh is also representative of federation hence it lies in their responsibilities to putting an end to violations of the rights of Karachities.

He also demanded of the quarters concerned to eradicate street crime, bring reforms in police and locals should be inducted in police department. He further revealed that PPP was defeated in all wards of Liari’s Bihar Colony UC-2 and added Jamaat-e-Islami’s chairman and vice chairman will win the elections.

He further said that PPP and Sindh government were involved in conspiracy regarding census which is against the residents of the city.
