Judiciary last hope of the country: Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD, Feb 19 (SABAH): Country has been facing with very serious issues and in this situation judiciary is the last hope for the country, said Aafia Movement leader and noted neurophysician of the country Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui.

She said we came here to attend hearing of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui case, but it was cancelled as the honorable judge of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaque Khan was ill. She prayed for his early recovery. She said the court has played a due role in this case which is about the human rights of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. She said the holy month of Ramadan is about to come and she would appeal the whole nation to pray for the country, as well as, Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan on the occasion said that the role of the honorable court in this case is very positive. He said new parliament is about to be formed and he would appeal it to take meaningful steps for an early release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. He also welcomed the lawyer of Aafia Siddiqui Clive Stafford Smith and said that his role in this case is very helpful and crucial. He said he is taking good efforts on this case. He appealed to the nation to support the noble cause of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

American lawyer of Aafia Siddiqui Clive Stafford Smith said that he has come here with a message of hope. He asked people to support and do everything they could do so that Aafia Siddiqui could be released from the US jail. He also stressed the role of the government of Pakistan in this regard.
