Judicial & accountability system in country has lost its credibility: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD, Nov 29 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has expressed his concern, stating that the judicial and accountability system in the country has lost its credibility.

Sirajul Haq highlighted that decisions seem to be influenced by the individuals’ status rather than the principles of justice.

Speaking at a Student Expo, he emphasized the phenomenon where those in power receive exoneration, while the same individuals are deemed criminals once they lose their positions.

Addressing the audience, he urged the youth to take a principled stand to rescue the country from the clutches of a corrupt system. He asserted that the restoration of credibility to the judicial system and accountability could only be achieved by the active involvement of educated young people who can steer Pakistan towards a path of justice and the rule of law. The event, organized by Islami Jamiat Talba, saw significant participation from students in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

He outlined the Jamaat-e-Islami’s vision, promising the reinstatement of student unions once in power. Additionally, he pledged to eliminate the class-based education system, make girls’ education mandatory, create job opportunities for the youth, and establish female universities in every division.

He criticized the lingering colonial system and its adherents, asserting their continued influence even after 76 years of independence. He accused status quo parties of prioritizing their alignment with Washington for political gains and avoiding support for the people of Palestine due to fear of the United States.

Sirajul Haq called for a rejection of dynastic politics, urging the youth to vote for honest and dedicated leadership in the upcoming February 8 elections. He claimed that former rulers had looted the country, amassing wealth for their offspring whom they sought to propel into power.

Emphasizing the need for change, he asserted that the JI aimed to bring the youth into the parliamentary fold, warning that the status quo parties would perpetuate the existing problems even if given another chance to govern. He urged the nation to choose the Jamaat-e-Islami and consign the status quo parties to obscurity in the upcoming elections.
