JKSDMI leadership, led by Raja Najabat Hussain, joins Andrew Western MP & Connor Rand MP at Prestigious Dinner
LONDON, Feb 08 (SABAH): The Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) team, led by its Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain, attended an exclusive dinner hosted by Mahvish Javed and Javed Khawaja. The evening brought together prominent political figures, community leaders, and advocates, facilitating a constructive dialogue on Kashmir, political engagement, and community cohesion.
The distinguished gathering was attended by Andrew Western MP, Member of Parliament for Stretford and Urmston, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions, alongside Connor Rand MP, Member of Parliament for Altrincham and Sale. The event served as an opportunity to reflect on ongoing advocacy efforts, electoral engagement, and parliamentary discussions surrounding Kashmir and wider community concerns.
Mahvish Javed, an accomplished artist, electrical engineer by qualification, and quality inspector by profession, welcomed guests and expressed her admiration for Raja Najabat Hussain’s tireless work in mobilising the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting activism and encouraging greater community engagement.
In his remarks, Raja Najabat Hussain provided insights into the evolving geopolitical dynamics of Kashmir, outlining JKSDMI’s continued parliamentary engagements and advocacy efforts. He highlighted key initiatives, including Kashmir Solidarity Week, The petition submission at 10 Downing Street, A major parliamentary meeting on Kashmir Solidarity Day, attended by over 25 MPs, Recent engagements with Parliamentarians and Upcoming strategic events aimed at reinforcing political discourse on Kashmir in the UK Parliament.
Andrew Western MP spoke about the importance of re-engaging with Muslim communities, underlining the need for inclusive representation in policy discussions.
Similarly, Connor Rand MP acknowledged JKSDMI’s instrumental role in supporting political engagement during and after the elections, commending the organisation’s dedication to civic participation and grassroots mobilisation. Yasmine Dar, former Lord Mayor of Manchester and Chairperson of the International Lobby on Kashmir, reflected on JKSDMI’s nationwide lobbying campaign, which has successfully engaged numerous parliamentarians since its launch in January.
