ISLAMABAD, March 27 (SABAH): The JKLF leaders remembered Advocate Jalil Ahmed Andrabi Shaheed on his 29th martyrdom anniversary on Thursday while paying him rich tributes over the sacrifices he rendered for the freedom movement.

In a statement issued from JKLF central information office, the party’s chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar informed the media that the party leadership from across the globe have paid glowing tributes to Adv. Andrabi for his un-matching sacrifices. He said that Jalil Andrabi was brutally killed by Indian army while his crime was that he defended well the human rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir at local as well as international fora’s.

The spokesman said that an Indian army officer Maj. Avtar Sigh with his large contingent of army personnel arrested him in Srinagar on 8 March, 1996 while he was traveling in a car with his family. He said that his bruised, tortured and bullet ridden body was later found in river Jehlum in Srinagar on 27 March. On filing the case against Maj. Avtar Sigh by the family, the officer couldn’t face the court of law to defend his crime but the government of India instead facilitated him to fled away to Canada just to evade his arrest. The pro-claimed offender, an Indian army officer Maj. Avtar was later mysteriously murdered in Canada for which Indian intelligence agencies are being doubted involved in his killing, the statement read.

He said that his cold blooded murder by Indian army officer is a black stigma on the face of the so-called Indian democracy.

While citing the examples of political victimisation of the incarcerated party chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, the world renowned Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez and other political prisoners, the spokesman strongly condemned this continued Indian State terrorism. The JKLF spokesman said that the party is committed to continue the struggle until the ultimate goal of national independence is achieved.  The JKLF leadership expressed their strong conviction and belief that such sacrifices in any way won’t go waste.
