JKLF pays tributes to Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah on his martyrdom anniversary


SRINAGAR, April 08 (SABAH): The central and zonal leadership of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) paid their respect and tributes to Shaheed-e-Ittihad-e-Millat Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah and said that Shaheed was not only a religious scholar of the state but also a great intellectual, a great thinker and a revolutionary who always strive for the unity of the nation and Ummah.

On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah, the JKLF central and zonal leadership namely; the Acting Chairman Raja Haqnawaz Khan, Vice Chairman Khawaja Saifudin, Vice Chairman Saleem Haroon, Vice Chairman Sardar Zahid Hussain Khan, diplomatic bureau chief Prof. Raja Zafar Khan, central chief organizer Sabir Gul, central finance secretary Khawaja Manzoor A. Chishti, central deputy secretary general Javed Hanif, central deputy chief organizer Sardar M. Anwar Khan, central deputy secretary finance Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed and Zonal Presidents including Sajid Siddiqi (AJK-GB), Liaqat Ali Lone (UK), Muhammad Haleem Khan (USA), Malik Mushtaq Pasha (Europe) and Waseem Iftikhar Durrani (Gulf), in a joint statement called him the true and faithful friend of incarcerated chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik.

According to the statement issued from central information office, the part leadership described the role played by the former president of Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith Jammu Kashmir and Shaheed-e-Ittehad-e-Millat Shaheed Showkat Ahmad Shah in the freedom movement as unique, commendable, admirable and unforgettable. For being fearless and while ignoring the continued life threats issued by the enemy and their stooges, he achieved martyrdom and thus demonstrated a high level of faith.

According to the spokesman, the joint statement read that Moulana Showkat would always express his concerns for the betterment of Ummah in general and for the Kashmiri nation in particular. For the future national goals to achieve, he always advocated a better, permanent, sustainable and well thought-out strategy among the freedom camp. His such thoughts, sincerity and sacrifices were the only reasons for him being a very close associate of Yasin Malik, the leaders added.

JKLF leaders in their joint statement while paying tributes to martyrs of Jammu Kashmir, vowed to continue the freedom struggle till the logical conclusion of independence is achieved. They paid salutations to the struggling people of Jammu Kashmir especially the thousands of illegally jailed political prisoners of the State languishing in different jails of India. They appealed to the world community, especially the international human rights organizations and the relevant world institutions, to impress upon the Indian government to immediately and unconditionally release all political prisoners of Jammu Kashmir including Yasin Malik.

The leaders also remembered former president of AJK Mirwaiz Moulana M. Yousuf Shah on his death anniversary and prayed for his magfirah and highest place in jannah.
