JIT including officers of FIA, ISI & IB constituted to probe malicious campaign against state institutions
ISLAMABAD, August 08 (SABAH): A six-member Joint Inquiry Team (JIT), headed by Muhammad Jaffer, Additional Director General Cybercrime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has been constituted to probe the malicious campaign on social media against state institutions.
The committee also includes representatives from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB). To this respect, the Interior Ministry issued a notification on Monday.
Deputy Director Waqar Nisar Chaudhry from IB and Lieutenant Colonel Saad from ISI are now part of the joint inquiry team of the FIA.
Intelligence agencies will probe the matter under the supervision of Additional Director General Cybercrime Wing FIA Muhammad Jaffer.
The team includes Dr. Waqaruddin Syed, PSP, Director FIA Cybercrime Wing North, Ayyaz Khan, Additional Director, CCW, Islamabad and Assistant Director FIA Islamabad Imran Haider. The copies of the notification have been sent to the concerned officials.
The purpose of the team will be to investigate where the negative trend initiated from and the individuals involved in running the hate campaign against the Pakistan Army martyrs.
Following the probe, the team will take legal action against the culprits.
