JI holding Independence Day celebrations at over 250 spots in the mega city: Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman
KARACHI, August 13 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has announced that the party is holding Independence Day celebrations at over 250 spots in the mega city.
The JI leader announced this at a press conference held at Idara Noor-e-Haq, the JI Karachi headquarters, on Saturday. Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the JI would deliver a message of hope for the future of Pakistan through the celebrations. He said that forefathers of the nation had sacrificed a lot for establishing Islamic Republic of Pakistan but unfortunately a bunch of slaves to some foreign powers have been ruling over the country since long.
Pakistan would not be able to make progress and development without toppling down the slave mentality from the government offices, he said, adding that the nation will have to get rid of feudal lords and capitalists to enjoy absolute freedom and sovereignty. The JI leader further said that almost poor people in the country pay taxes against the majority of the elite class that dodge taxation. On the occasion, he announced to launch a new phase of the campaign against the K-Electric after August 14. Talking about the controversial company, he said that the back to back ruling regimes in the country support the KE despite all its corrupt practices.
Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the federal government provides gas to the controversial private company without any contract and this out of turn and undue favor is quite illogical as well as suspicious. Similarly, he questioned, the excessive billing despite the fact that the government provides 1000 megawatt electricity to the company free of cost. He said that the KE of Arif Naqvi, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority and the government have made an evil nexus to plunder the national resources. In this process, Karachiites suffer the most, he added.
He reiterated his demand to cancel the license of the controversial private company over a number of reasons, ranging from violations of the agreement with the state to bankruptcy of the parent company.
The JI leader also raised the issue of local bodies polls and demanded of the government to reprint ballot papers in different colors to ensure transparency in the electoral process. In this regard, he also demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to remove a political administrator from Karachi.
The political parties trying to get rid of local bodies elections will not be allowed to do so, he said while criticizing the PPP and the MQM particularly over their coalition in Kar for a national assembly seat. He also demanded of the government to declare an emergency and take measures to hand the situation in Karachi after rains.
Meanwhile Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said 30 million Karachiites are celebrating Independence Day despite being deprived of basic facilities.
He expressed these views while addressing to the media as well as masses while visiting multiple camps set up at Gulbarg and other areas of Karachi to celebrate the Independence Day. He was accompanied by several prominent local JI leaders. He was addressed to locals during Azadi Night ceremony and other programs at his electoral constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the people in Karachi are full of resilience and patriotism as they always play their due role for the development of the country. He said that the need of the hour is to change the system of governance in the country instead of changing ruling parties.
He further said that unfortunately the same families are taking turns for government in the country to plunder the resources. Talking about the role of the JI, he said that the party has launched the Karachi Rights Movement. The campaign is not only associated to the JI but all the 30 million Karachiites, he added.
The JI leader urged Karachiites to reject those who plundered the resources and betrayed the city and the citizens. He asked them to vote for the JI on August 28 in order to set Karachi on the path of the past glory, progress and development.
