JI contacting with political leaders, civil society, important stakeholders to sort out national & political crisis: Liaqat Baloch

ISLAMABAD, April 10 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, Liaqat Baloch has stated that Jamaat-e-Islami was contacting with political leaders, civil society and important stakeholders for sorting out national and political crisis.

In a statement issued on Twitter on Monday, Liaqat Baloch stated that Jamaat-e-Islam was contacting president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), president Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PTI) and leaders of Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami stressed upon the need of holding polls, terming it as per Constitution. He was of the view that escape from elections and explanation of constitution as per needs will only exacerbate the prevailing crisis. He noted the Supreme Court and President crossed the limit of 90 days and added its punishment should be given to governor and interim governments.

Liaqat Baloch stated that it was clear now that the court should adopt the course of full court bench formation whereas the national leadership should follow the path of dialogue. Division in judiciary, personal decisions of judges and Chief Justice’s refusal from full court formation disarmed politics and judiciary itself and handed over the powers to the establishment, he noted and added this phase was also demanding of full court formation on constitutional, legislation and electoral matters whereas the political leadership needs to quit stubbornness and ego and adopt the path of dialogue.
