Jamaat-e-Islami will start anti-government movement sit-ins from Gujrat on 6th Feb: Ameerul Azim


LAHORE, Jan 30 (SABAH): Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameerul Azim has said that Jamaat-e-Islami will start the anti-government movement sit-ins from Gujrat on 6th February. He said that 100 sit-ins will be staged in whole country and march will be carried out towards Islamabad for the 101st sit-in. He said that inflation, unemployment and tsunami of corruption have made the lives of the people worsen. He said that the JI will contest the Pandora papers and Panama leaks case in Supreme Court of Pakistan and in whole country.

This was stated by Ameerul Azim while addressing the special meeting of the office bearers of the JI Central Punjab at Mansoorah. The meeting was also attended by Emir JI Central Punjab Muhammad Javed Qasuri, General Secretary Nasrullah Goraia and others. During the meeting the schedule of sit-ins going to be held in Central Punjab was finalized and arrangements were also reviewed.

Ameerul Azim said that JI is playing the role of real opposition so we have decided to carryout protest against handing over State Bank of Pakistan to IMF and wave of unbearable inflation in whole county to press the government to remove governor SBP and legislation carried out to make the IMF happy should be immediately withdrawn and prices of important household use items should be brought down by 50 percent.

Ameerul Azim said that JI will carryout the sit-in on 13th February in Sheikhupura, 18th February in Gujranwala, 4th March in Okara and Sahiwal, 5th March in Faisalabad, 11th Marchin Toba Tek Singh and Jhang, 12th March in Chiniot, 13th March in Nankana Sahb, 23rd March in Lahore, 25th March Pakpatan and on 27th March in Narowal. The central leadership of JI will participate in these sit-ins. He said that in future days the schedule for the sit-ins for North Punjab, South Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan will be announced.
