Jamaat-e-Islami will stage sit-in at D-Chowk of Islamabad at any cost on July 26: Liaqat Baloch

ISLAMABAD, July 24 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that Jamaat-e-Islami will stage a sit-in at D-Chowk of Islamabad at any cost on July 26. On Thursday caravans from all over the country will leave for Islamabad, he said and added if the government tries to impose a blockade, the protest will spread across the country, there will be sit-ins in different places. He said revision of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) agreements is inevitable, people are coming on the streets everywhere in the country, IPPs agreements have proved to be death warrant for the national economy.

Liaqat Bloch expressed these views while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday. Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Mian Muhammad Aslam and District Emir Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa were also present on this occasion. Liaqat Baloch said that the people are excited to protest for the reduction of their problems as the ruling parties have taken away the right to live and their happiness from the people. He said political parties have also made the people surrounded by problems in the tug of war of power politics, adding that the people seem to be disillusioned with politics, democracy and parliament.

He said that in order to save the country from anarchy, to give courage to the people, to get rid of the terrible economic crisis, the sit-in in Islamabad is inevitable, adding it is also our national and public duty. Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch said that the agenda of the sit-in is clear, relief should be given to the people, the worst electricity crisis, abnormal prices of petrol gas, the pile of taxes has become unbearable, the rulers have surrendered to the IMF and created the worst economic system. He said they are determined to end the economic crisis.

The agreements of IPPs have been proven to be a death warrants for the national economy so they must be shunned. Liaqat Baloch said that Pakistan is rich in resources, the youth have immense potential. He further said the land is fertile and agriculture is our strength, labor and skilled people are our valuable assets, traders, industrialists, exporters possess immense potential. He said that the slave-minded economic team has caused enormous damage to the national economy, due to which the people think their future is black.
