Jamaat-e-Islami strongly condemns the FIR on a peaceful protest against dacoit rule in Sindh: Ameerul Azeem

LAHORE, Feb 18 (SABAH): Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Ameerul Azeem has said that the Jamaat-e-Islami strongly condemns the filing of an FIR on a peaceful protest against dacoit rule in Sindh.

In a statement, Ameerul Azeem said that filing an FIR against Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, Kashif Saeed Sheikh, and Naib Qeem Imdadullah is an undemocratic act.

He said filing an FIR against Emir District Shikarpur Abdul Sami Bhatti and Emir City Maulana Sadruddin Mehr is a regrettable matter.

Instead of ensuring peace, the Sindh government and police are registering cases against Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, he regretted.

Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan further said that a protest against dacoit rule and lawlessness will be held across Sindh on February 18. If the Sindh government and police do not change their attitude, the protest will spread across the country, he warned.

Government-backed lawlessness and dacoit rule continue in Sindh, he noted and added the Sindh government has resorted to shameful and cheap tactics.

Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its struggle until peace is restored in the country, Ameerul Azeem concluded.
