Jamaat-e-Islami inaugurates Alkhidmat Model Village for 2022 flood victims
KARACHI, July 21 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has inaugurated Alkhidmat Model Village for the 2022 flood victims at Gadap Town.
Each family was provided with a residential unit along with kitchen and bathroom and other facilities. The model village also houses a mosque and park. Two water supply pupms were installed at the model village, whereas one of them is operated on solar energy.
On the occasion, the affected people warmly welcomed Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and his team and expressed their gratitude.
Alkhidmat’s Naveed Ali Baig, City Council Members Qazi Saddarudin, Somaar Barfat and other JI leaders also accompanied Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and addressed the ceremony.
In his inaugural address, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that thousands of Alkhidmat volunteers participated in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation operating in parts of Sindh, KPK and other affected areas of the country without any discrimination of cast, creed and colour.
He said that the model village has been established in Gadap area of Karachi, whereas other model villages are being established in Sehwan, Dadu, Kashmore and other areas across the Sindh province.
The JI leader made it clear that it was the responsibility of the state and
the government to provide residential facilities to the affected people.
Unfortunately, he maintained, the Pakistan People Party government in Sindh took the natural calamity as an opportunity to plunder resources and even the foreign aid for the affected people.
He said that the PPP government hit the headlines less for the relief work and more for corruption and mismanagement during the floods.
The JI leader added that the PPP leaders talk a lot about the ethnicity but do less to nothing for the people of Sindh. He highlighted that the PPP government in Sindh only focused on mere announcements and optics, whereas the JI and Alkhidmat did their part of the relief work for the affected people.
