Jamaat-e-Islami believes in constitutional & democratic peaceful struggle: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Aug 20 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch met with First Secretary of Japan Embassy Mizusawmaki and Head of External Section of British High Commission Sam Sherman.

There was a detailed discussion on international relations, the political situation of South Asia and Pakistan and the stand of Jamaat-e-Islami on revolutionary changes in Bangladesh.

Liaqat Baloch also informed about Jamaat-e-Islami’s peaceful political democratic resistance, sit-in and struggle to solve people’s problems and provide relief to the people and said that Jamaat-e-Islami believes in constitutional, political and democratic peaceful struggle. He said observance of law, regulations and constitution of Pakistan and human rights have been enforced by Jamaat-e-Islami itself, adding we want peace in the region.

He said that without solving the Kashmir issue, stability in the region and the surrounding areas cannot come. He said it is the right of millions of people that the international community should force India to give the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations. He said minorities should be protected from Hindu extremists and Brahmins, adding the international community should stop pampering India.

Liaqat Baloch informed about a review meeting on the implementation of the agreement with the negotiating team of government ministers and Jamaat-e-Islami. He said now this fact has become clear to everyone about expensive electricity, expensive petrol, pile of taxes about looting of IPPs.

e said that Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz realized the public anger and announced temporary relief, but until the people are ensured the supply of electricity and petroleum products at the actual cost and they do not get real and permanent relief, the people will not rest.

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said that the youth and people of Bangladesh have given the third world countries a way to live. He said that Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have no other option but to give relief to the people or prepare to face harsh resistance as people are now ready to make any sacrifice.
