Jamaat-e-Islami accepts defeat in Punjab’s bye-polls with an open heart: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, July 18 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former parliamentary leader in National Assembly Liaqat Baloch on Monday said that Jamaat-e-Islami accepts its defeat in Punjab’s bye-election with an open heart.

Liaqat Baloch said this whilst his conversation with the JI’s candidates for Punjab’s bye-polls constituencies of Lahore, Faisalabad, Bhakar, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura and Multan.

He also congratulated to all the 20 winning leaders belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and independent ones. May these polls outcomes bring political and democratic stability in Punjab and the whole country, he wished.

Political anarchy, bitterness, lust for coming into power, besides other dilemmas will not allow establishing the environment of peace and tranquility which will usher to early general elections in the country, Liaqat Baloch said, adding the way the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) held the recent bye-elections is laudable; however, its actions to curb limitless polls expenditures ended in smoke.

A free and fair performance audit of elections expenditures incurred during these by-elections in few constituencies needs to be done as a test case otherwise limitless misuse of monetary resources will not allow bringing democratic and parliamentary stability in this land of ours, Liaqat Baloch noted.

Bye-polls outcome was e not contrary to the expectations of Jamaat-e-Islami; however, there is a beginning of relying on the sign of scale for its endeavours, manifesto and performance. Liaqat Baloch said, “We need to learn a lesson from out past mistakes. Workers should put utmost efforts for winning upcoming general elections by intensifying Scale’s vote bank.”

It is a bare fact that the election process has been held hostage on a particular pattern, Liaqat Baloch said, adding the poisonous polarization is disastrous for the country and the ummah. He continued that Islamic ideology, welfare and merit based public decision will pave a way to the prosperity of the people.

Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami will intensify its efforts for upcoming elections with renewed determination as it believes only on a peaceful, honest, political and Constitutional electoral struggle that may lead to holly Islamic revolution.
