Jalil Abbas Jilani underscores Pakistan’s commitment to free & fair elections

ISLAMABAD, Feb 07 (SABAH): Senator Vladmir Chizhov, Head of the Pakistan-Russia Friendship Group of the Russian Federation Council,  called on Foreign Minister Jali Abbas Jilani on Wednesday. Senator Chizhov is visiting Pakistan as an International Observer for the general elections being held tomorrow (Thursday).

The Foreign Minister underscored Pakistan’s commitment to free and fair elections and explained the electoral process and security arrangements for a peaceful and transparent elections. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen Pakistan-Russia bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

Meanwhile Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on Wednesday held separate meetings with Ambassador Per Albert Ilsaas of Norway and the High Commissioner Neil Hawkins of Australia. Discussions in these meetings focused on enhancing Pakistan’s engagement and cooperation with Norway and with Australia.
