Jail Bhoro Tehreek’ came to an end: Rana Sanaullah
SARGODHA, Feb 24 (SABAH): Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that ‘Jail Bhoro Tehreek’ came to an end. He noted despite being at Lahore, the party leader couldn’t present him for arrest, saying the province where they ruled for over a decade there not even a single leader presented him for arrest.
Rana Sanaullah expressed these views during his meetings with several delegations of divisional and district office-bearers, religious scholars, labour representatives, lawyers, chairmen and members of assemblies at Sargodha.
He said that ‘Jail Bhoro Tehreek’ had met to its logical end like his other arson failed plans and added ‘Jail Bhoro Tehreek’ was initiated from Lahore where it ruled for four years but in the city of 15 million people, neither the leaders nor the party office-bearers presented them for arrest. Some of them who presented them for arrest started knocking the doors of courts for the sake of their release even before the passage of just 24 hours, he revealed.
Rana Sanaullah further said that despite the former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan lavishly consumed the government’s resources but not even a former minister, party leader or worker presented them for arrest despite the party leader directions on the matter.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has begun election drive and added the Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer of PML-N Maryam Nawaz Sharif commenced visits in this regard.
Rana Sanaullah said that the people had totally rejected the ‘Jail Bharu’ Movement and only gathered 70 to 80 persons at Lahore and Peshawar for the drive and those who courted arrest were dejected in view of poor response from public. He criticized that PTI leaders were demanding bail even after few hours of their arrest.
He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan himself sought bail and wanted to use the innocent helpless workers for his vested interests, but, fortunately, his so-called court arrest drive could not take off even in KPK where he remained in power for the last several years.
The federal interior minister said that the government had made arrangements for the arrest of 500 persons but only around 70, including three or four cronies of Imran Khan, courted arrest and three vehicles were used for their detention, he added.
The minister said that Imran Khan had not given answers regarding the theft of gifts from the Toshakhana which were recovered from his house and avoiding trials in each case.
Rana Sanaullah said that they were ready for the elections and they had started their campaign also, but the polls should be held throughout the country at the same time. A caretaker set-up was necessary for free and fair elections but assemblies should complete their constitutional tenures, he added.
He lamented that there was no guarantee that Imran Khan would not question the fairness and transparency of the elections in case of his defeat as the people realized his politics of false and hollow slogans.
