Jahangir Tareen holds Imran Khan, PTI leaders responsible for Jinnah House attack
LAHORE, May 17 (SABAH): Senior politician Sardar Jahangir Khan Tareen on Wednesday held Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan and party leaders responsible for the Jinnah House attack.
The former PTI leader visited Jinnah House where he spoke to the media and condemned the attack. He expressed that he got the chance to visit the Jinnah House today and it had deeply saddened him to see how the place was treated. The Corps Commander House was once Jinnah Sahib’s [Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah] house and such an incident had happened after 75 years, he deplored.
Jahangir Tareen said what had been done to Jinnah House was unimaginable. All the violators came here with the PTI flags. They were all PTI workers. “May Allah guide people and bless them with wisdom and understating. There is no excuse for the act, such things should not happen again in Pakistan’s history.”
Hopefully, he said, those who had planned this attack would be brought to justice.
Talking about his past with PTI, Jahangir Tareen said, “I gave 10 years of my life to PTI. We wanted to create a new example of a new country. There was no violence of this kind in any of PTI’s gatherings before. I had political affiliation and friendship with Khan Sahib. My relationship with him [Imran Khan] ended two years ago due to personal reasons.” He said the role he played in PTI’s struggle was for Pakistan.
He lauded the armed forces for standing on the borders and defending the country.
