IUETO condemns failure of Pak delegation to fulfill their obligations to defend the truth & expose ongoing genocide against Muslim people of East Turkistan

XINJIANG, July 20 (SABAH): International Union of the East Turkistan Organizations (IUETO) has condemned the failure of the Pakistani delegation to fulfill their obligations to defend the truth and expose the ongoing genocide against the Muslim people of East Turkistan. IUETO condemned the contribution of delegation to the sinicization of Islam and justification of Islamophobic policies of China. IUETO has urged Muslim scholars, Islamic organizations, movements, Muslim countries, and politicians to stand with the Muslim people of East Turkistan and take action to stop the ongoing genocide.

According to the statement issued by IUETO, on July 18th, a delegation of Pakistani religious scholars and academics visited Chinese-occupied East Turkistan. According to Tian Shan Agency’s reports, this delegation attended a seminar in Urumqi titled “Continuing Sinicization of Islam,” where Chinese officials and so-called religious figures stated that Sinicizing Islam and adapting it to a socialist society are crucial for the long-term stability of the region and as part of China’s modernization strategy.

The statement said that during the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Ma Xingrui, the Secretary of the so-called “Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region” Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and ErkinTuniyazi, the Region’s Governor. In the meeting, the delegation expressed that Pakistan was a good neighbor, friend, and brother to China, always standing alongside China. They endorsed China’s ethnic and religious policies, claiming that different ethnic groups in the region enjoyed full religious freedom and lived harmoniously under these policies. In reality, it’s a known fact that China has been implementing assimilation policies which are concentration camps, brainwashing, Islam ban, abortion, family separation, and state oppression at a genocidal level where millions are arrested and other millions are dead since the occupation in 1949.

The statement said that China has been implementing its “Sinicization of Islam” policy since 2012 to restrict Islamic practices, demolish mosques, arrest Muslim Scholars, Ulemas, and thinkers, legitimize its policies against Islam, and cover up ongoing genocide in East Turkistan. Furthermore, China consistently invites delegates from Islamic countries with which it maintains good diplomatic relations and deceives them by showcasing religious activities that are normally forbidden but specifically staged for these delegations.
