It was his personal stance that Imran Khan’s long march should have not been permitted to enter in Islamabad: Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD, May 26 (SABAH): Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that it was his personal stance that Imran Khan’s long march should have not been permitted to enter in Islamabad.

In an interview with the state-run TV channel, Rana Sanaullah said that if the Supreme Court of Pakistan had not permitted Imran Khan’s long march would have not been permitted to enter in Islamabad, adding that it is his personal stance that Imran Khan’s long march should have not been permitted to enter in Islamabad. Rana Sanaullah said that on the instructions of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif we had not issued a single bullet to the Islamabad police. Rana Sanullah said that he was in favor of taking action against those who are involved in unrest, adding that we will request the government to apprehend the people involved in the unrest through footages of CCTV and cases should be registered against them.

Rana Sanullah said that if Imran Khan brings 0.6 million people after six days then he will support the demand of Imran Khan to announce the date for holding elections. He said that Imran Khan should come and sit peacefully we will provide every facility but if they want to carryout bloody march and want to create unrest and divide the nation and misguide the youth of the nation, for this purpose they should not be given permission. Rana Sanaullah said that no negotiations between government and PTI have held. Rana Sanaullah said he has not taken any pressure of PTI march on Wednesday and will again not take any pressure if PTI comes again in future with long march.

Meanwhile in a statement issued on Thursday, Rana Sanaullah Khan said that the people have outrightly rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inaf’s march of chaos and anarchy. Rana Sanaullah Khan said PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in complete violation of the Supreme Court’s orders, entered Islamabad’s D Chowk.

The Minister said PTI’s armed protesters kept on burning and destroying public properties the whole last night.

He said police did not even fired a single rubber bullet, but eighteen police and Rangers personnel got injured in the turmoil created by PTI hooligans.

Paying rich tribute to the police and Rangers, the Interior Minister said security forces will continue protecting the lives and properties of the people.

Rana Sanuallah Khan said that he personally monitored the security situation throughout the night and observed that people had rejected the group of rioters completely. He said that Imran Khan withdrew from his agreement with the Supreme Court to hold a rally at a designated location, and he broke his word by announcing a march to D-Chowk.

Rana Sanaullah said that the police did not fire any bullets, it is misleading propaganda. At least 18 police officers and Rangers personnel sustained serious injuries, he said. Islamabad police and Rangers would continue to protect the lives and property of the public, he said.

Rana Sanaullah said he honour each Jawan of the Islamabad police and Rangers. He said that the Supreme Court should issue clear orders to ensure the rule of law and the Constitution so that the rioters can be expelled from Islamabad and the safety of life and property of Islamabad’s citizens can be ensured.
