LAHORE, May 12 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said that it seemed the PDM, the PTI and their sponsors have bent upon creating Sudan-like situation in the country.
Being part of the government, the prime responsibility of the PDM is to create stability instead of holding rallies, Sirajul Haq said in a statement issued from Mansoorah on Friday.
The Supreme Court, Sirajul Haq added, has to prove its impartiality. Sirajul Haq said the dialogue among the political stakeholders was need of the hour. The need which was not felt before so strongly, he added. The sides, he said, must show maturity and avoid turning the situation into worst.
The JI chief said that the martial law or emergency would not provide any solution rather things would turn into ugliest. The elections were the only solution to the prevailing crises. Being itself a stakeholder, the JI, he said, believed that providing fair and peaceful environment to the people of Pakistan for elections was the prime duty of all political stakeholders. He said the people were the ultimate victims of the prevailing situation.
Sirajul Haq said that the violence and rigidity could never be justified in politics as results of both political and religious extremism were dangerous and poisonous. He said every responsible citizen was worried and anxious over the situation particularly appeared in last three four days. No one could justify the actions of putting on fire the national assets, he said, expressing regret and grief over the overall circumstances. He said nation has to behave in civilized manner, agreeing on rule of law. He said the JI had suggested the national poll after Eid-ul-Azha and the political parties must develop consensus on it.
