It is saddening that President House, ECP aren’t cognizant of their powers: Sirajul Haq

TIMERGARA, LOWER DIR, Feb 21 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that it was saddening that President House and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) were not cognizant of their powers.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing the District Bar Association at Timergara, Lower Dir on Tuesday. He further said that the Constitutional institutions were at fight with one another which was why the masses have lost their confidence in them. He said the resignation of the chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has given birth to many questions and added that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wanted the justice system of their own choice.

He said that the same practice with the NAB was being repeated on the lines of that PTI’s tenure and added the Jamaat-e-Islami wanted that judges, generals and bureaucracy should remain away from interfering in the political affairs. If all the institutions work while remaining within their Constitutional limits it will be their kindliness to the nation, he added.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said if the institutions continued their interference in the politics, the country will not make development and further deplored the current system of the country supports the cruel individuals but not the oppressed segments of the society.

Sirajul Haq said the judges make decisions of the cases while keeping in mind people’s status and added the powerful people of this society don’t consider the law anything but the same law disgraces a poor person through generations.

He said only the declared assets of 18 influential persons were amounting to Rs 4,000 billion whereas the masses were worried for the bread of two times. He said there is no issue of paucity of resources in the country but the real issue is the just division of the resources which is possible through setting up of supremacy of law and Constitution and added it was also a fact that a lawyer established this country which was why the legal fraternity needs to play their role in the development of the country.

He said that the holding national and provincial assemblies’ transparent election throughout the country was only solution to the issues of the country. He said the announcement of protest against inflation as well as the political strategy will be announced on the occasion of Islamabad Convention going to be held on February 27.

Sirajul Haq said that only an Islamic System might bring a real change while only Jamaat-e-Islami can confer upon the country the Islamic System. He appealed to the masses to support Jamaat-e-Islami in elections for the supremacy of law and Constitution and eradication of corruption.
