It is our demand that Afghanistan’s money should be returned back: Fawad


ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said that the issue of Afghanistan could create a difficult situation for the world, including Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Talking to media at the outset of OIC Foreign Minister’s Conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said if the situation worsens in Afghanistan, it could create a humanitarian crisis.

The Minister said the situation in Afghanistan cannot be left to Pakistan alone as no economy in the world can bear such a burden.

Fawad Chadhry said that the United States has frozen $9 billion assets of Afghanistan, adding that currently there is humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. Fawad Chaudhry said that it is our demand that Afghanistan’s money should be returned back and if this money is not returned then in result of this the crisis will further intensify.

Fawad Chaudhry said that after 1980 it is first time that such a big conference is held on Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan has already provided Rs 5 billion aid to Afghanistan but the whole affair could not be left on Pakistan alone. He said that no economy of the world could afford this kind of burden.
