It has been decided to close down 630 Utility Stores across country


SARGODHA, Aug 20 (SABAH): It has been decided to close down 630 Utility Stores across the country. 34 Utility Stores of district Sargodha would be closed down while nine stores have already been shut.

According to sources, the federal government had given subsidy of billions of rupees on several edibles including sugar, flour, pulses and other items but it has not paid the amount to the Federal Ministry for Industries and Production due to which Managing Director of Utility Stores has decided to close the services of 630 stores across the country.

At present, more than 6000 Utility Stores have been set up across the country which had been established to facilitate the masses but not these stores were been closed down.

In seven tehsils of district Sargodha, 84 Utility Stores had been setup of which nine have been closed while further 25 stores would also be shut. People from across the country were expressing concerns over the failure of the government.

The people further demanded of Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaarul Haq Kakar to take notice of the incident forthwith so that subsidy should be paid to the Ministry of Industries and Production to reverse the decision of closing down the services of 630 Utility Stores across the country. They added these stores were in fact a blessing for the underprivileged segments of the society. On the other side, the people in Sargodha were also staging protests against the decision.
