Ismail Haniyeh contacts Afghan FM Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi on telephone, briefs him about the developments in Palestine & Gaza
GAZA, July 24 (SABAH): Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political department of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), contacted the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, on the phone. In addition to the bilateral relations between the two leaders, they discussed the overall political and battlefield developments in the context of the effects of the ongoing Al-Aqsa battle in the Gaza Strip. The head of Hamas appreciated the position of the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan Muslim people regarding the Palestinian issue. He briefed the Afghan Foreign Minister on the developments in Palestine and Gaza.
Ismail Haniyeh clarified that Hamas is willing to reach a ceasefire agreement based on the demands of the Palestinian people and its principle of Muslim resistance. During the conversation with the Afghan Foreign Minister, Haniyeh emphasized the need to support the Palestinian people’s determination in the fight to free the Al-Aqsa Mosque from Jewish domination, including achieving their goals, independence and national rights.
On the other hand, the Afghan Foreign Minister reiterated his support for the principled position of the government and people of the Islamic Emirate in support of the Palestinian cause and especially the Palestinian resistance in the Al-Aqsa battle. He said that the Afghan government and people are standing with the Palestinian resistance in the war of atrocities and genocide by the Israeli army. Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi greeted the head of Hamas on behalf of the Emir of the Emirate, the government and the Afghan people.
